A major part
of our work at CHM is to visit churches. There are two main reasons
for this:
We
believe that healing the sick was central to the work and teaching
of Jesus and that he continues to heal today. A key place for this
to take place is in Christian churches.
The CHM is a well-respected Christian organisation, with many years
of experience and an ever increasing breadth of teaching materials
available, so it is natural that leaders turn to the Mission when
teaching and training is required.
Why
are visits helpful?
Visits tend to be requested for two main reasons:
To experience something of God's wonderful healing power - and we
are happy to lead days with this focus, to participate in healing
services or to preach at Sunday or mid-week services.
To teach a group or a church how they can be involved in this ministry
- and this can be aimed at encouraging new-comers or offering on-going
training to an existing team.
As
we travel out and about we believe that we see God's healing touch
upon many people, as well as a new intimacy with God developing
as people discover something of the wonder of encountering Jesus.
What
if my church is not near London?
We
are open to invitations from all geographical regions and are not
restricted to the London area, so will be pleased to hear from you
if you think that a visit might be helpful.
What
does a visit cost?
Often
we are asked about the cost of such visits. We have no fixed fee
as we don't want any group to be put off inviting us because of
finances. Having said that, we still need to be realistic and admit
that we are a Charity that depends on donations, and even then we
run at a considerable loss each year, particularly in the light
of the current financial situation. For this reason our Trustees
have put together some guidelines:
Travelling expenses should be covered
A donation to the Mission is important for our on-going work (when
we invite speakers to visit us we aim to remunerate them at the
rate of £75 for an evening, £100 for a half day and
£200 for a full day)
If appropriate a collection plate at the back would be appreciated
in case individuals would like to support our work.
However if you are a small group and some of the above are not
possible, then please invite us anyway!
