| Our
vision is to make Christian healing accessible to everyone.
Link Centres
form a network of groups affiliated to The Christian Healing Mission,
resourcing the ministry of healing throughout the whole spectrum
of the body of Christ.
What
makes a CHM Link Centre?
Our desire
is that every church should offer healing prayer as part of
its regular church life, but a Link Centre should offer prayer
ministry beyond traditional Sunday worship times. This is in
order that as many people as possible, from that church and
beyond, might receive prayer for healing.
CHM is committed
to resourcing Link Centres with teaching and training materials,
and desires a reciprocal undertaking that this material will
be absorbed into the life of each Link Centre.
Each Link
Centre is encouraged to be creative in how they operate, in
order to suit their own setting and churchmanship.
CHM hopes
to develop an on-going personal relationship with each Link
Centre and as far as possible to encourage mutual respect, prayer
and encouragement between leaders of all the Link Centres.
Why
be a Link Centre?
To be recognised
as a legitimate centre of healing
To be affiliated to a major UK healing organisation
To have access to good on-going training
To be enabled to operate to a high standard in this ministry
To have access to on-going support, advice and encouragement.
Please note
that there is no financial commitment on either side as our
desire is to promote the healing ministry wherever possible.
How
do CHM see healing?
Our desire
is to bring people into the presence of Jesus without any other
agenda than to let him do what he wants to do. Sometimes he
does just what people hope for, but at other times he may well
choose to minister to other areas of their lives first - and
we seek to let him do that.
Another
aim is that we be open, prepared and willing to pray with all
people, whatever their spiritual heritage. They may come from
different backgrounds to us and our concern is not to make them
like us.
We hope
that The Christian Healing Mission and those associated with
us are marked by:
An active
seeking out of the presence of God
A
desire to be marked with the gentleness of Jesus
A confidence
in what God has done for us in Jesus
A reliance
on the Holy Spirit
When
does a church / group become a Link Centre?
If we look
at the various stages in which a healing ministry becomes established
within a church, it would probably look something like this:
- A person
or small group have a passion for this ministry (this may
be the Minister, or it may not)
- Other
people catch the vision of what God could do
- Space
is given for this ministry to take place within the visible
life of the church
For many
churches, the healing ministry continues at this level. For
some, however, further stages take place:
- A recognition
that some issues can't be dealt with within the confines of
ministry following a Sunday service
- A group
/ space / time is established for ministry to take place when
necessary beyond the limitations of 'post-service prayer'.
At this
stage, we would love to be able to help, and offer the opportunity
for a church to become a Link Centre with CHM.
