‘Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.’ 1 Chronicles 28.10
Yesterday we looked at what the Bible says about us – that we are chosen and adopted by God. What are you going to do with this information?
Towards the end of 1 Chronicles David gave some advice to Solomon, his son, who had been chosen to succeed him as king. He told him to ‘Consider’. In other words, to think about and ponder just what it meant to be chosen by God. What does it mean for you?
Consider this: the Lord God of heaven and earth chose you. It really does put other feelings of rejection in their place! Whatever others may think of you, God himself chose you and wants you to be a part of his family in order that he can pour out his love upon you. However, there is more to it than this. In order to ‘consider’ this message it needs to move beyond words; the truth expressed by the words needs to sink into our hearts, so that it moves from the paper and becomes truth within us. This is the truth that will set us free.
Take a moment to ‘consider’ these words, ‘I am chosen by God’. Repeat them until they become a part of you; let them change you.
