About CHM
The Christian Healing Mission (CHM) is an online healing charity. In one format or another, we have existed since 1948 and our aims are still the same – to encourage individuals and churches to seek the living God for relationship, healing and transformation.
People regularly contact us to share the wonderful ways in which they have found healing and transformation in their lives as a result of prayer.
“Just wanted to say what a blessing this morning was. It was like a dose of medicine which was just what I needed. Jesus really does always have what we need.” A
“Thank you for holding me in prayer as I went for the biopsy on the lump in my neck today. When they did the scan prior to performing the biopsy, after a long time, they announced that there was absolutely no sign of any lump!” P
“This encounter has taken away so much of the sadness and loneliness you can feel when losing a loved one, especially a loving father. I see my father in a different light now and have had a lot of healing, thank you Jesus amen.” C
We have called our approach to prayer ‘Encounter Prayer’, and if you are interested you can find more about it on our Encounter Prayer website – encounterprayer.net
Have a look at some of the things we offer and don’t hesitate to contact us if you think we might be of help. We will be pleased to hear from you.

About our new director
The Team
Rob is an Ordained Anglican Minister who trained at Ridley Hall Cambridge. Since his ordination in 2008 Rob has served in the Dioceses of St Albans, Portsmouth and Oxford. Rob’s interest in the ministry of healing began when he was living and working on the island of Madeira and exploring a call to ordained ministry with the encouragement of the local Anglican church – Holy Trinity Funchal. In his final year at Ridley Hall, Rob met his wife, Anthea when they were both on a study-trip to the Holy Land, and it was Anthea who first introduced Rob to the Work of CHM. Anthea and Rob each completed placements with CHM during their curacies, and have remained keen supporters of the work of CHM. Anthea is Chaplain at a girls’ school, and Rob and Anthea live in Berkshire along with their teenage son.
Rob says; “It is deep privilege to take on this role at a particularly exciting stage for CHM, and I am conscious of the debt we all owe to the wonderful work of Reverend John Ryeland and his wife Gillian. Not only has John devised and developed the core elements of CHM’s ministry and resources, but he and Gillian have faithfully and selflessly ministered to others in Jesus’ name for over 20 years. In doing so they have brought Jesus’ healing, light and joy into countless lives. I wish Gillian and John every blessing in their retirement, and am enormously grateful for their prayers and continued support for the work of CHM”

Reverend Rob Wynford-Harris became the director of The Christian Healing Ministry on 1st January 2025. Healing has been a great part of his personal journey and ministry and he is excited to build a hybrid type of ministry, continuing with online encounter prayer zoom sessions but adding to this, face to face ministry, training, celebrations and events with the aim of publicising CHM, recruiting and using existing ambassadors and enabling healing in various locations around the UK. He would like to build on the network of churches who have had contact with CHM in the past and invest time and training in other churches, denominations, Christian groups and retreat centres – blessing what God is doing and looking at what help they might need to develop the healing ministry.

Liz Nicoll, who has been the administrator at CHM since 2011, is continuing to keep the social media, websites, finances and other administrative tasks up to date.

In December 2022 Suzanne Brooks rejoined the CHM team. Suzanne had previously worked as Prayer Ministry Co-ordinator at the premises in Cambridge Court, Hammersmith over 16 years ago. Suzanne oversees the weekly Encounter Prayer sessions

In 2025 we begin the work of becoming both an online and, once more, an in-person healing ministry. More news on this will follow in a few weeks, but in the meantime, the Trustees and Rob would like to thank all who visit our website and use our resources and all who support our work in prayer and or through donations.

May 2025 bring renewed faith, healing and Christ’s light to our world, and to each of you.
