CHM Policy Statement on Safeguarding

With regard to children, young people and vulnerable adults:

We recognise the value and dignity of every person and therefore commit ourselves to protect and safeguard all those with whom we interact, particularly children, young people and adults at risk.

We recognise our responsibility to take safeguarding seriously.  The Trustees will ensure that the Director of CHM undertakes the mandatory training in this area.

We undertake to exercise proper care in the selection, appointment, training and support of those working with children or adults at risk.

We will respond without delay to concerns or allegations that a child or adult at risk may have been harmed in the course of our interaction with them, cooperating fully in any investigation.

We will challenge any abuse of power by anyone in a position of trust at CHM.

We will seek to find pastoral care and support, including supervision and referral to the proper authorities if necessary, for anyone affected by abuse of any kind at CHM.

With regard to CHM material and resources:

The Christian Healing Mission provides resources to the public in good faith. Our provision of these materials does not constitute an official endorsement of any specific ministry, church, organisation that chooses to use them.

We explicitly state that The Christian Healing Mission cannot be held responsible for the actions of others such as  individuals or ministries misusing our resources to conduct prayer ministries, deliver unauthorised counselling, or engage in practices outside our organisational guidelines.

The Christian Healing Mission accepts no liability for such actions. Users are encouraged to exercise spiritual and personal discernment.

Safeguarding concerns that emerge during an encounter prayer session must be handled in accordance with the team’s home church safeguarding protocols (in the same way as any other ministry offered by the church). This must be made clear to the guest during the introduction at the start of the ministry session
