The friendship of the Lord

It can sometimes be tricky for us as humans to think of our Almighty God of the universe as our FRIEND. There is a term that may help us understand how we can hold the balance of seeing God as our KING and as our FRIEND.

The term is: REVERENT INTIMACY. 

We are invited to draw near to God, which is the INTIMACY, but also commanded to SUBMIT to Him, which is the REVERENCE --- REVERENT INTIMACY.
